Bergslitræet in Prestegardsmoen
Knud Bergslien was a painter best known for the historical painting "Birkebeinerne". A depiction of Birkebeiner skiers carrying Prince Haakon to safety during the winter of 1206. It has become a national Norwegian icon. Brynjulf Bergslien was a sculptor best known for the bronze equestrian statue of King Karl Johan in front of the palace in Oslo, unveiled in 1875.
Bergslitræet is a small museum in Voss about the painter Knud Bergslien and the sculptor Brynjulf Bergslien (his brother). They were influential artists in national romanticism, and many are surprised to learn that they were born and raised in Voss.
Bergslitræet is part of the Bergslien Trail—and features a museum, café, and museum shop.
