Stalheimskleiva

Stalheimskleiva is the name of the old road going from the inner parts of "Nærøydalen" and up to the farms "Brekke" and "Stalheim". The view is indescribable.

Stalheimskleivi, upper part is closed for restoration. The work will probably last until fall. During the construction period, the road cannot be used.

It will be possible to walk past the roadwork via Kongevegen, which is located just below. The path is marked. This hike is at your own risk.

The attraction between the waterfalls!

Stalheimskleiva is one of the steepest roads in Northern Europe, built during 1842-1846. The road has 13 hairpin bends, with Stalheim Hotel located at the top. From here you will get a beautiful view of the road and the Nærøydalen valley, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can also explore Stalheimsfossen and Sivlefossen waterfalls, which are located on each side of the road.
