Packrafting with Kayak Voss

This fun activity will take you on a personal and informative adventure down the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Raundalen river in Voss. On this scenic journey you will learn the basic skills required to safely navigate and paddle your own packraft down one of the most beautiful stretches of river in Voss.

We start off in a calm pool, where we will get you comfortable maneuvering the packraft and getting in and out of the water into the raft. We will get you confident traversing in an out of the currents as well as understanding how to use the river features to help you maneuver your packraft easily. . We will equip you with the basic techniques and paddling skills you will need to get you and your boat bouncing happily down the river through rapids and bouncy wave trains.

You will be safely guided down the river by one of our friendly, experienced and qualified guides for the duration of the trip. We will make a short stop at a beautiful secluded beach where we will provide you with a small locally crafted lunch and refreshments. Our guides will give you a personal and informative insight into the scenery and surrounding nature of the Raundalen as well as talk a little bit about the geology and history of the river.

Age Limit: 10+
Experience: No previous experience required
Requirements: All participants must be confident and capable swimmers
Time Allowance: 5hours

What to bring: Light wool or thermals to wear under the wetsuit/drysuit
What not to bring; All valuables including, wallets, cameras, phones, glasses or sunglasses.
