Snowshoeing, bonfire and stargazing over Voss
Snowshoes make it possible to walk easily through the deep snow and enjoy the winter landscape. Join our guide on a tour near the top of Hanguren, just outside Voss Resort's ski slopes. As we exit the gondola, we find ourselves in beautiful mountain terrain with an excellent view of Voss and the surrounding mountains.
The snowshoe trip at Hanguren is a good option for those who want a fresh winter experience in beautiful nature - without skis on their feet. We adapt the tour plan to the group's wishes and only take small groups with us. This is a technically simple and family-friendly trip. If you are the playful type, you might want to take the opportunity to play in the snow, slide down small slopes or follow grouse tracks.
Meet your guide outside our office at Tre Brør Café and Bar in the center of Voss. The guide goes through clothing and equipment and ensures that everyone is ready for a snowshoe trip to the mountains. Our guides will equip you with extra clothing if necessary. The gondola takes us to the starting point for the snowshoe tour, at the top of Hanguren. Up here there is often a biting wind, so you quickly appreciate the good, warm clothes.
On our snowshoe tours, the guide will be happy to help you gain more knowledge about winter outdoor life. Maybe you want to learn how to light a fire with one match? Or prepare simple food on the fire? The guide is happy to tell us about nature and the local area in which we travel, and will of course make sure that you keep warm along the way.
In the rucksack, the guide has locally produced food that is cooked on a fire. The fire boiler provides hot drinks for everyone. If the weather is bad, we get together and build an improvised shelter from rain and wind. You will quickly discover that time by the fire gives you the opportunity to enjoy the silence of the forest - far from everyday life.
After the trip, we return to the center of Voss with the gondola.
Participant requirements
This is an easy, short, and family-friendly tour. The trip is suitable for healthy participants who want to spend some time outside in the winter mountains. The trip takes place in mountainous terrain, so the weather can be sour and cold. You do not need any previous experience from snowshoeing or trips in the winter mountains.
Season
Tours are arranged on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 December 2023 to 15 March 2024. After 15 March, tours can be booked daily until 21 April.
